    ABSTRACT:             Distributions through "All Managed
    Systems" not
    distributing
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Distritutions for a situation group through a distribution group
    create
    under "All Managed Systems" are not being distributed to any
    system.
    
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
     1) Create a UA situation and an NT situation. Each of these
    have no
        distributions.
     2) Open Object Group Editor
     3) Select "Manage System" and then selected "All Managed
    Systems" from
        within that.
     4) Press "new" to begin creating a new manager system group.
     5) Put UA agents and NT agents into the new group
     6) Pressed the "Apply" button to save the managed system group.
     7) Then select Situation in the Object Group Editor.
     8) Press the "new" button to create a new situation group.
     9) Add UA and NT situations created in step 1 above.
    10) Select the distribution tab.
    11) Add the group created earlier to the distribution for this
        situation group.
    12) Pressed the "Apply" button to save the situation group.
    13) Check distributions for the situation and you will see that
    the
        distribution to the members of the "All Managed Systems"
    group did
        not occur.
    

Local fix

  • Distribute the situations to the "All managed systems"
    distribution
    group in the situation editor.
    

Problem summary

  • Distributions through "All Managed Systems" are not being
    distributed.
    
    Situation groups distributed through a distribution group
    created under "All Managed Systems" are not getting distributed
    properly.  This results in situations within the situation group
    not running on the expected target systems.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The code has been corrected to allow distributions to occur.
    
    The fix for this APAR is contained in the following maintenance
    packages:

Temporary fix

  • Do not distribute a situation to an "All Managed Systems"
    distribution group.  Use other distribution methods instead.
