    firewall
    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    Trying to connect the Tivoli Enterprise Portal browser client
    over a fire wall using the following URL does not work.

    http://<teps_host_name>:1920///cnp/client/?xxxxx.ior
    .
    RECREATE INSTRUCTIONS:
    Create a second interface in the Tivoli Enterprise Portal
    server. Try connecting the Tivoli Enterprise Portal browser
    client over a non NAT'd firewall using the following URL:
    .
    http://<teps_host_name>:1920///cnp/client/?xxxxx.ior
    .
    where xxxxx  = the name of the second TEPS interface defined.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • KFWITM392E Internal error occurs during logon to portal client.
    
    To connect to a user defined portal server interface, the
    interface reference (IOR) file name must be specified as part of
    the URL used to connect to the portal server, for example,
    
    http://hostname:1920///cnp/client/?ior=external.ior
    
    where <external> is the name you gave for your  KFW_INTERFACE.
    
    When using this URL, the portal client login dialog will be
    displayed, but after entering the user ID and password, the
    dialog displays an error:
    
    "KFWITM392E Internal error occurred during logon."
    

Problem conclusion

  • Logon will now work as the query parameters from the initial URL
    are carried over to the redirect URL passed back to the portal
    client.
