Error description
The following message is recorded in the sna.err log: ------------------------------------------------------ NODE Message 16385 - 4, Subcode: 2 - 10 Log category: EXCEPTION Cause Type: Internal System: ***** Message type 1 discarded. Cause: An internal message was discarded because its destination is inactive. Action: If this leads to problems, provide support services with the audit and error log files, and trace files if available. ------------------------------------------------------ This is associated with some RUI_INIT failures that are associated with a link activation failure.
Local fix
Problem summary
USERS AFFECTED: All using the LUA API. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: "Message type 1 discarded" is logged in sna.err when an LUA application is retrying (issuing RUI_INIT) while the link is inactive. PROBLEM SUMMARY: This error message is caused by a narrow termination race in the code processing the RUI_INIT failure. It is not harmful, and it does not cause any other problem.
Problem conclusion
Code has been modified so that this message does not get logged when this termination race occurs.
