APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When logging in to Operations Center (OC) using an Administrator
    which has Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) set,
    
    the display of client diagnostic data using Client Management
    Service (CMS) will fail.
    When trying to do that, a message "ANS3004E Session for user
    <username> terminated - invalid password entered." is getting
    logged in the Client error log.
    
    In addition to that, the Operations Center will show the
    message
    "To use the client management service, include the Client Web
    Server feature when you install the Backup-Archive Client on the
    client system."
    
    
    Instead, when using a user which is not authenticated using
    MFA, the client diagnostic data of the same client  is getting
    displayed.
    
    
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect Operations Center V8.1.14 on all supported
    Operating Systems
    

Local fix

  • Use a non-MFA-enabled Administrator when collecting client
    diagnostic data via Client Management Service (CMS).
