APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Starting with IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1.5, after every
    client backup session, statistics are analyzed for signs of
    Ransomware infection.
    If signs are present, a warning message (security notification)
    is displayed in the Operations Center for the operator to review
    and acknowledge.
    The acknowledge of a security notifications will complete in
    error for a SPOKE server from which the security event
    originated, when this server is in a different timezone than HUB
    server one.
    The message of the error is :
    "Failed to acknowledge notification on <affected node name>.
     The IBM Spectrum Protect server object that you are trying to
    access does not exist on the server."

    IBM Spectrum Protect Server version 8.1.5  and later on all

Local fix

  • 1. On the spoke server, run:
    
          select timestamp from tsmgui_allsec_grid where
    name='<node_name>'
    
    2.  Using the timestamp from the previous step,  run the
    following on the SPOKE server:
          UPDATE SECNOTIFICATION <node_name> <date from spoke>
    <time_from_spoke> TYPE=SYstem STATE=ACknowledge
    
    After 1 or 2 status refresh intervals, the security notification
    will disappear.
