IT38450: OPERATIONS CENTER ADMIN PASSWORD WILL FAIL TO BE UPDATED ON SPOKE SERVERS IF NOT LISTED IN "QUERY MONITORSETTINGS"

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When an Operations Center (OC) admin user (IBM-OC-xxxx) password
    expires, the OC will fail to update the IBM-OC-<hub> password
    on all of the SPOKE servers whose names are not listed in the
    QUERY MONITORSETTINGS output as "monitored servers".
    The following messages will be logged in the server activity log
    on the SPOKE servers where the update of the password fails:
    
    ANR0431W Session 12345 refused - administrator
    IBM-OC-SERVER1 (10.x.x.xxx(38122)) is locked.
    ANR0418W Session 12345 for administrator   IBM-OC-SERVER1
    (10.x.x.xxx(38122)) is refused because an incorrect password was
    submitted.
    ANR2177I IBM-OC-SERVER1 has 5783 invalid sign-on attempts.
    The limit is 5.
    ANR2178E IBM-OC-SERVER1  has been locked.  Invalid
    sign-on attempt limit (5) reached.
