  * when attempting to add an SVC device running an outdated     *
  * firmware level, such as 6.x                                  *

  * This APAR fixes the code to work even when an older          *
  * version of SVC firmware (which is not supported), is added   *
  * to Spectrum Control.                                         *
  *                                                              *
  * However, it is strongly recommended that all storage         *
  * devices are running current, supported versions of           *
  * firmware to ensure proper functionality.                     *
  *                                                              *
  * If any problems occurs while using older, as-is software     *
  * levels, you will need to upgrade to an officially supported  *
  * version.                                                     *
