APAR status

Error description

  • Cloud transfer processes like database backup, tiering, space
    reclamation to an S3 type cloud, including Amazon Web Services
    (AWS), might fail with ?ANR3716E status code: 400? and the
    exception "com.amazonaws.ResetException" is shown in the FFDC
    log. This is is likely to be seen after installed or upgraded to
    8.1.12, but could be possible on other releases also.
    
    The actlog for a database backup shows the following entries for
    example:
    BACKUP DB t=full devc=AWS-S3 numstreams=10
    ANR3716E A request to the cloud service provider for the write
    object operation on the AWS connection or storage pool failed
    with the following HTTP status code: 400.
    ANR2968E Database backup terminated. Db2 sqlcode: -2033. Db2
    sqlerrmc: -50
    
    
    dsmffdc.log shows:
    [ FFDC_GENERAL_SERVER_ERROR ]: (jvm.c:1854)
    com.tivoli.dsm.cloud.api.ProviderS3Retry handleException
    com.amazonaws.ResetException The request to the service failed
    with a retryable reason, but resetting the request input stream
    has failed. See exception.getExtraInfo or debug-level logging
    for the original failure that caused this retry.;  If the
    request involves an input stream, the maximum stream buffer size
    can be configured via
    request.getRequestClientOptions().setReadLimit(int)
