APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When a switch is no longer in use, the External process doing
the pobe will just fail to connect to it, return an error, and
will not create any output file.
The probe's state will be Failed, but the switch will remain as
    DETECTABLE in IBM Spectrum Control
The probes of the other switches in the Fabric set some link
entities (port2port ) to UNDETECTABLE, but this is not enough,
and when trying to delete the out of use switch from IBM
Spectrum Control, the cleanup code still finds links
between that switch and the rest of the switches, and delete
    them all.

This APAR makes it possible for a switch to be deleted from
Spectrum Control alone, independent of all the other
switches in the fabric, when it is taken out from the fabric.
