IT36381: EXPORTING A BACKUP FROM PSM WITH BACKUP_FILTER/RESTORE_FILTER REPORTING "(-43082) WRITING TO BACKUP AND RESTORE FILTER FAILED"

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Exporting a backup from PSM using 'onsmsync -E' will report
  
   (-43082) Writing to backup and restore filter failed with error
  100.
  
  if a BACKUP_FILTER was used for creating the backup (and hence
  configured RESTORE_FILTER will be used for the export).
  
  In fact the RESTORE_FILTER will be required for initial
  extraction of 'reserved pages' in order to determine correct
  list of spaces to export.
  Despite of the error message, reserved pages extraction will
  already have succeeded and the export can proceed unaffected and
  eventually will succeed.
  
  
  Here's the relevant section from bar_act.log:
