Error description

  • After applying version 8.1.11 of the Spectrum Protect server,
    client backup and restore operations can be severely slowed down
    when the destination pool contains a large number of damaged
    chunks.
    A change was introduced with IT33767 which modified the way
    database tables are scanned and has had a negative effect on
    performance in presence of large number of damaged chunk
    entries.

    Customer/Support Diagnostics:

    When collecting performance data using the servermon feature,
    client session threads will be spending most of their time in
    DB2 Reg Exec category running an SQL query like
    SELECT 1 FROM TSMDB1.sd_dedup_audit sdda WHERE
     sdda.recoverystatus!=3 AND sdda.type=1 AND sdda.poolid=? AND
     EXISTS(SELECT 1 FROM TSMDB1.sd_all_chunks sdac WHERE
      sdac.chunkid=sdda.id) FETCH FIRST ROW ONLY OPTIMIZE FOR 1 ROW
