Error description
Clients needs to be connected to a server before installing Client Management Services. This is not described on the manuals explicitly. Otherwise the Client Management Services configuration fails. Local fix
Refer the technote, "Procedure to create server truststore" section. Configuring for SSL communication between client management service and the Tivoli Storage Manager server https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/249987 The steps create a svr-truststore.jks file under <cmsInstallDir>/cms/Liberty/usr/servers/cmsServer directory and add server certificate to the svr-truststore.jks. Restart the Client Management Services to take effect. service information: Windows - Restart "IBM Spectrum Protect Client Management Service". Redhat Linux - Execute the command, "systemctl restart cms.service"

The server truststore file that the client uses does not have the server Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate until the client system has connected to the server."
