Error description
After adding brand new Storwize V5000 or V7000 storage to Spectrum Control, the performance monitor does not successfully collect any data on the scheduled 5 minute interval. Each data collection sample logs the following error in the performance monitor job log. HWNPM4302E - New performance data is not yet available for the device. Statistics with time stamps later than <timestamp> could not be found. The following commands show that the storage device is in sync with the Spectrum Control server clock. This was not the problem. - svqueryclock - svcinfo showtimezone The following command can be used to see the timestamps on the raw stats being collected on the storage. - svcinfo lsiostatsdumps The default statistics collection interval on the Storwize storage is 15 minutes. It needs to be at least as frequent as the collection interval set in Spectrum Control.
Local fix
If the collection interval in Spectrum Control is less than 15 minutes, run "startstats -interval <minutes>", where <minutes> is a value of 5 or 1.
