Error description

  • The communication part of an SSL connected session can be
    significantly more time consuming than what can be justified by
    extra encryption/decryption compute time. For a communication
    intense workload a performance loss of up to 50% has been
    observed.

    One symptom of hitting this problem would be 'ready' threads
    (onstat -g rea) in a system that's not otherwise suffering from
    cpu shortage. Those 'ready' states could occur with sqlexec
    threads on both cpu and encrypt VPs, affected threads' stacks
    would contain calls to ssl_encrypt_bind() or
    ssl_encrypt_unbind().
