In the joblog seeing the messages : ERROR,<timestamp>,2,CTGGE0084,[<SQL server host address>] SQL backup failed reason [Failed to find the compressed file [c:\ProgramData\SPP\ffe09200-0c2d-435c-85a9-03ce1ea36f75\vssback updocs.zip] the backup fails]. This new behavior causes 'false positive' risk detection for the above powershell compression command. This triggers the Antivirus to cancel the powershell process which causes the backup to fail. Local fix
If possible, to have a one time backup, temporarily disable the Symantec Endpoint Protection file system Auto-Protect feature.

Problem conclusion
Changed the file compression method from powershell commands to .net APIs
Temporary fix
Update Symantec End Protection to the version that white lists Spectrum Protect Plus and fixes the issue.
