Error description

  • The IBM Spectrum Protect server's QUERY REPLICATION, during
active replication of more then one node that were started at
the exact same time, may report that the still processing nodes
    as failed. .

The actlog will show more then one Replication starting at the
    exact same time. Example:

    12/29/19  07:30:27   ANR0984I Process 135 for Replicate Node
started in the BACKGROUND at 07:30:27. (SESSION: xxxx, PROCESS:
    135)

    12/29/19  07:30:27   ANR0984I Process 136 for Replicate Node
started in the BACKGROUND at 07:30:27. (SESSION: xxxx, PROCESS:
    136)

In this case, Process 136 finished at 07:37:52 which marked all
of the still running filespaces (Process 135) as Failed.

When the QUERY REPLICATION was run, at a time after one of the
Replications had completed, it incorrectly reported the still
    running Replication as failed. Example:

     Q Replicate f=d:

              Node Name: NodeName
         Filespace Name: xxxx
                   FSID: x
             Start Time: 12/29/19 07:30:27
               End Time:
                 Status: Failed
         Process Number: 135
                Command: xyz
                  Phase: Replicating

    IBM Spectrum Protect versions affected:
Server versions 7.1.x and 8.1.x on all supported platforms

    Keywords:
    TSM TS002916061

Local fix

  • Start the longer processing nodes at a different time than the
faster processing nodes or ignore the failed output.
