IT31000: DECOMMISSIONED NODES FILESPACES ARE NOT REMOVED AFTER BACKUP OBJECT EXPIRATION

Error description

  • Performing a decommission node might not remove the nodes
    filespaces as expected, even though no occupancy exists and all
    objects
    have been expired.
    
    Symptoms:
    A query of the node will show this as being decommissioned.
    A query of the occupancy returns no data.
    A query of the filespace still shows it as existing.
    
    Manually expiring the node and deleting the filespaces appear to
    be successful, but these are still not removed.
    
    Server tracing does not reveal the cause and no errors are
    reported.
    
    
    Initial Impact: medium
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect versions affected:
    Server 7.1.x and 8.1.x on all supported platforms
