IT29760: VADP PROXY PORT IS NOT UPDATED AFTER UPGRADING FROM 10.1.2.X TO 10.1.3.X

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After upgrading to IBM Spectrum Protect Plus version
  10.1.3, the VADP proxies are upgraded automatically
  which use a new port (8098) for communication. The
  configuration is not always updated automatically
  to use this new port which can cause communication problems with
  the VADP proxies which can result in failed backups.
  The Virgo log will show:
  Failed to retrieve task information from vadp proxy
  (http://192.168.1.100:8080/task):
  I/O error on GET request for "http://192.168.1.100:8080/task":
  Connection refused (Connection refused); nested exception
  is java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused
  (Connection refused)
  Attempting to open the VADP proxy options will
  product error "Get Proxy Options Exception"
  Port 8080 is the old port.

Local fix

• Unregister the VADP proxy and register it again.

Problem conclusion

• This problem has been fixed by adding periodic internal check in
  code and adjusting the VADP proxy information  data.
