APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Attempting to authenticate with a password containing
characters encoded in UTF-8 which have no corresponding
encoding in ISO-8859-1 codepage will fail.
The reason why this is happening is due to the fact that
DataPower is internally using ISO-8859-1 codepage, this APAR
will allow the user to select UTF-8 codepage instead.

Local fix

  • Restrict the characters used in the password field to the first
    128 of the ISO-8859-1 codepage

Problem summary

  • Enable charset-transparency option for convert-http actions.
When enabled, the input and output charset will be the same.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix will be in 2018.4.1.6

Temporary fix
