Error description

• After upgrading to 8.1.6.100, db2mon Application fails to
  authinticate ODBC between Spectrum Protect and DB2.
  
  
  Spectrum Protect Versions Affected: 8.1.6.100 and observed on
  AIX.
  
  
  The error can be seen in the db2diag.log.

Local fix

• 1- confirm there is a process for 'dsmckpwd' running that is a
  child of the dsmserv process.
  
  2-  Log in as the server's instance user and create a symlink to
  the unix domain socket as below
  
  ln -s ~/sqllib/tsmdbauth.TSMDB1 ~/sqllib/tsmdbauth.
  
  3- retry the operation.
