APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the server is doing it's stack unwinding, it may cause a
    recursive exception.  It isn't always consistent, it may produce
    an extra frame labeled null on one machine and on a different
    machine it will cause the recursive exception.
    
    In the case of the recursive exception, the MSGPATH file will
    only contain the following:
    
    17:47:12  Recursive Exception - Server exiting
    17:47:12  The Master Daemon Died
    17:47:12  PANIC: Attempting to bring system down
    
    And then in the assertion failure file, it will container the
    register dump and the stack trace and then nothing else.
    
    The extra null frame in a stack would look like this:

    0x00000000015af303 (oninit.fix) th_init_initgls
    0x00000000015f6b05 (oninit.fix) startup

    Lastly, onstat -g stk <tid> or onstat -g stk all could also fail
    with changing data structure forced command line termination.
