IT28575: GENBSON UDR CREATING INVALID BSON FROM JSON, WITH EXTRA QUOTING AROUND NESTED JSON

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• genbson() converting table data to BSON would incorrectly quote
  JSON data among that existing  table data:
  
  select genbson(xt, 1, 1)::json
   from table(set { '{"my_key":"my_val"}'::json } ) as xt(j);
  
  resulting in
  
  (expression)  {"j":"{"my_key":"my_val"}"}
  
  with those quotes around the nested (pre-existing) JSON
  rendering the complete JSON invalid.
