Error description
A storage rule and subrule are configured to tier data from a directory-container storage pool to a cloud-container storage pool. For example : Protect: MYTSM>q stgrule f=d Storage Rule Name: CLOUD-TIER Target Storage Pool: CLOUDPOOL Action Type: NoTiering Active: Yes Storage Type: Cloud Source Storage Pools: CONTAINERPOOL Protect: MYTSM>q subrule cloud-tier f=d Subrule Name : CLOUD-TIER-NODE01 Subrule ID : 3 Action Type : TierByAge Delay ( in days ) : 0 Maximum Processes : 4 Subrule Members : NODE01:- The QUERY OCCUPANCY shows data for node NODE01 is stored in the source directory-container storage pool (CONTAINERPOOL) but no data is tiered to the target cloud-container storage pool (CLOUDPOOL) when the rule is activated. Customer/L2 Diagnostics : Logon with the instance userid and run the following commands from a shell : 1) db2 connect to TSMDB1 2) db2 set schema TSMDB1 3) db2 "select poolid from ss_pools where poolname='CONTAINERPOOL'" Replace CONTAINERPOOL with the name of the directory-container storage pool to be tiered 4) db2 "SELECT MIN(SCOT.OBJID) FROM TSMDB1.SC_OBJECT_TRACKER SCOT WHERE SCOT.POOLID=XX AND SCOT.OBJID IN (SELECT SCAO2.OBJID FROM TSMDB1.SC_ALL_OBJECTS SCAO2 WHERE SCAO2.STATE IS NULL OR SCAO2.STATE=1 OR SCAO2.STATE=2 OR SCAO2.STATE=4)" Replace XX in SCOT.POOLID=XX with the poolid obtained in command 3. Using the objectid obtained in command 4, run the Spectrum Protect server admin "SHOW INVO objectid" command. For example : Protect: MYTSM>show invo 12345 Inventory object 12345 of copy type Backup has attributes: Node(123): NODE01 ... ObjName: ... Inactive, Inserted 12/11/2013 07:11:22 (UTC Not Set) ... When the object shows a date with "UTC Not Set", no data is tiered. An object will not have a UTC date set if the object was inserted in the Spectrum Protect server database when the server was at a level below 6.3.0. Initial Impact: Medium Additional Keywords: cloud-tier TS001892634 Versions Affected: IBM Spectrum Protect server 8.1.3 and above on all platforms.
