Error description
Alerts for probe failures seen by customer; no failed probe apparent in the logs or GUI DETAIL OF PROBLEM: IBM Storage Insights is capable of sending alerts for failed monitoring tasks to end-users; in certain situations these alerts are being sent to users, when there is no failed probe task visible in the GUI. The cause of these misleading alerts being sent is when a probe is started, while an existing probe of the same device is already in progress. The failure messaging about the probe already in progress is intentionally not displayed in the Storage Insights GUI by design; the alerts for these jobs however was not disabled. This APAR will disable alerting for jobs that fail due to a previous job still running for the same device, thus avoiding unnecessary customer alerting. RECREATE STEPS: N/A ________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________ Problem as described by customer: SI Generating Probe Status Errors for Arrays But In Probe Logs there is no error shown Initial customer impact (low/med/high): low
