IT27854: SQL LOG BACKUPS DO NOT RUN AFTER MOVING THE SQL DB TO A NEW SLA POLICY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• SQL Log backups do not run after moving the SQL DB
  from one SLA to another. This occurs because the
  Windows log protection task is not created as an
  existing log backup task is detected.
  agent_sql_log: The last log backup time of database [MYDB] is
  [2018-12-09 12:52:50].
  agent_sql_log: Scheduling log backup task for database [MYDB].
  agent_sql_log: Log backup task exists for database [MYDB].

Local fix

• 1 - Remove the Windows task for the SQL Log backup
  2 - Remove the "settings.json"  file from
  C:\ProgramData\SPP\SqlLogBackup\<policy ID>\<SQL instance
  name>\<SQL database name>

Problem conclusion

• The problem will be fixed by using the same log backup task by
  all the SLAs for a particular database.
  

Temporary fix

• 1 - Remove the Windows task for the SQL Log backup

  C:\ProgramData\SPP\SqlLogBackup\<policy ID>\<SQL instance
  name>\<SQL database name>
