APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • After a successful backup or  archive to a cloud type container
    storage pool,  the following restore or retrieve may fail. This
    issue can also be detected by audit container.
    
    
    Support/Customer Diagnostics:
    
    1: A client restore or retrieve failed with the following error:
    ANS4988W File '/fs1/file1' is currently unavailable on server
    and has been skipped.
    
    2: When the issue happens, the following  errors were logged in
    the server activity log:
    
    
    ANR0207W OBJECT RETRIEVAL skipped object ID 197337568  because
    one or more extents are marked damaged.
    ANR0548W Retrieve or restore failed for session 1846424  for
    node NODE1 processing file space /fs1  for file file1  stored as
    Backup - error detected.
    
    3: after this issue happens, "query damaged t=container " will
    show the damaged containers.
    4: dsmffdc.log shows according messages like below for the
    damaged containers:
    
    [12-03-2018 10:09:35.180][ FFDC_GENERAL_SERVER_ERROR ]:
    (sdaudit.c:2385) Cloud size of container 6296613 indicates that
    one or more chunks may have been trimmed off the end.
    
    5: re-run "audit container" on the damaged containers doesn't
    reset the damages, for example:
    ANR4891I AUDIT CONTAINER process 55172 ended for the
    xxxxx/yyyy/0000000000601425.dcf container: 5630 data extents
    inspected, 5630 data extents marked as damaged, 0 data extents
    previously marked as damaged reset to undamaged, and 0 data
    extents marked as orphaned.
