Error description

  • The server DB BACKUP process fails with error below if the
    following conditions are true:
    
    . The server uses a CA signed SSL certificate
    . The communication method used for the backup is set to TCPIP
    . The server is upgraded to 816
    
     ANR2968E Database backup terminated. DB2 sqlcode: -2033. D B2
      sqlerrmc: -369
    
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect Version affected:  Server Version 8.1.6 on
    all supported platforms
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics: N/A

Local fix

  • There are two potential work arounds:
    
    - Enable the shared memory communications protocol on the server
      and configure database backups to use shared memory.
       Note that shared memory is not supported for database backups
       on Windows,  but only on Linux and AIX.
    
    - Add the option "DBMTRUSTEDIPIGNORE YES" to the server options
      file and update the database backup configuration to specify
      the server's external IP address instead of localhost.   This
      will work on any platform.
