Error description

  • Problem Description:
    In the server configuration wizard using dsmicfgx.exe,
    "Configure Instance" next to "Configuration Summary" can be
    started, but it cannot be proceeded at a certain point due to no
    cluster node being listed, and the configuration is not
    completed.
    This problem can occur when the configuration wizard is running
    on Japanese Windows cluster environment.   The issue cannot be
    avoided even if "English" message is selected at the first
    screen of the configuration wizard.

    IBM Spectrum Protect Server 8.1 on all supported Japanese

Local fix

  • Install and configure English locale on OS and set it as primary
     language.  Run dsmixfgx.exe. After the completion, change back
    the locale to Japanese.
