IT26589: HYPERVISOR INVENTORY MESSAGES "DTO CONVERSION FAILED" ON VMWARE TAG OBJECTS ENDING IN STATUS PARTIAL

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The Inventory maintenance job ends with the status PARTIAL
  because the cataloguing task of the vCenter VMware Tags displays
   the following errors in the job log :
  
  All tag objects give a warning message :
  
  DTO conversion failed skipping catalog of tag <tag name> for
  category SPP
  e=org.springframework.web.client.RestClientException: Could not
  extract response: no suitable HttpMessageConverter found for
  response type [class
  com.fasterxml.jackson.databind.JsonNode] and content type
  [text/html;charset=ISO-8859-1]
  Due to this fact, any VMware guest associated with VMware Tags
  to a SLA Backup Policy will not be taken up in that policy and
  not be backed up automatically.

Problem conclusion

• Spectrum Protect Plus calls REST APIs in quick succession
  during inventory process, and since the vCenter was configured
  to throttle the calls per second, requests to the vCenter
  returned HTTP 503 failures which were not expected by the code,
  causing cascading failures.
