IT26535: SLA ATTEMPTS TO BACKUP VIRTUAL MACHINE THAT HAS BEEN DELETED FROM THE HYPERVISOR

Error description

  • When the SLA job runs, it attempts to backup a virtual machine
    that
    has been deleted from the environment. This results in the
    following errors in the
    SLA job log:

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus Hypervisor inventory jobs runs a
    catalog  condense operation at the end of its process to remove
    stale entries. This process relied on a successful inventory
    operation occurring at the vCener level. A failure in this
    process affected the condense operation resulting in the error
    description. The inventory operation has been made more
    resilient such that a full inventory at the vCenter is no longer
    required. The process is now more granular in that the inventory
    operates at the individual resource type level as opposed to the
    vCenter level.
