Error description

• After updating the Spectrum Protect for Virtual Environments -
  Data Protection for VMware to version 8.1.6, the Spectrum
  Protect extension is missing in the vSphere web client.

Local fix

• Launch the stand alone Configuration Wizard by starting the
  browser using the url :
   https://localhost:9081/TsmVMwareUI
  then ensure the checkmark is set on 'Configuration Mode', log in
  with the vCenter user credentials and follow the setup wizard to
  register again the extension.
  Alternatively, the extension registrer script can be used :
  
  a. Copy key.jks from
  InstallDrive:\IBM\SpectrumProtect\webserver\usr\servers\veProfil
  e\resources\security\key.jks to
  InstallDrive:\IBM\tivoli\tsm\tdpvmware\webserver\usr\servers\veP
  rofile\resources\security\key.jks
  b. Open a command window and point it to the directory:
  InstallDrive:\Program Files\IBM\SpectrumProtect\Framework\VEGUI
  c. Run the register_vcenter_extension.cmd
     usage: register_vcenter_extension.cmd <vCenter Address>
  <vCenter UserID> <vCenter Password> <GUI Web Server Port> <Local
  Host Fully Qualified Domain Name or IP>

Problem conclusion

• Data Protection for VMware plugin is now updated during
  installation. If the update attempt is unsuccessful, the user is
  notified and may update through the configuration wizard.
