IT26349: DELETING USER CREDENTIALS FROM THE IDENTITY PANE MAY FAIL WITH APOPUP ERROR

Error description

  • When deleting a user credentials from the identity pane using
    the IBM Spectrum Protect Plus GUI the operation may fail
    reporting a popup error saying:

Problem conclusion

  • IBM Spectrum Protect Plus may present an error when attempting
    to remove a user identity from the system. See the error
    description. This error stems from the fact that the identity
    has been associated with the registration of an application
    server within the product. When an application server is
    registered, the parameters including the identify are persisted
    within the product's database. When you attempt to remove the
    identity, the system will indicate that it may be in use.
    Additional logging has been added to provide more information
    about which resources are tied to the identity. This will offer
    better guidance as to what steps should be taken to change the
    configuration that will eliminate this relationship. For
    instance, you may be required to remove the identity from the
    application server configuration that is using it. Navigate to
    Backup->Manage Application Servers->Edit. Determine if the
    identity that is attempted to be deleted is configured on the
    application server. If so, then simply remove it from the
    configuration. Then proceed to delete the identity.
