Error description

  • The IBM Spectrum Protect Client sessions may hang or timeout, if
    deduplication statistics is being generated at the time on the
    IBM Spectrum Protect Server. The servermon script collection,
    with enabled process stack dump, will show threads waiting in
    AdmLockNode(), SHOW RESQ will show many node sessions waiting on
     locks, and SHOW TXNT will contain a transaction with a held
    DEDUPSTATS lock along with a transaction with held locks for the
     same node names as seen in SHOW RESQ output.
    
    IBM Spectrum Protect Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect Server 7.1.3 and higher on all platforms

Local fix

  • 1) Run the processing against the nodes individually with
    separate commands
    2) Schedule it to run when the client is not connected to the
    server
