Error description
When the DEFINE/UPDATE server and DSMSTA SETSTORAGESERVER commands are used to specify incorrect passwords for partner servers, it can be difficult to determine that the root cause of communication problems is a password mismatch. There is no message that calls out the specific problem. Tivoli Storage Manager Versions affected: IBM Spectrum Protect server 7.1.8, 8.1.2 or higher level on all platforms. Initial Impact: Low

This problem was fixed. Affected platforms for reported release: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows. Platforms fixed: AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows. New Message: ANR4397E Certificate delivery failed due to incorrect password definition for this server on server <partner server name>. Explanation p>The server could not accept a certificate from the indicated server because that server specified an incorrect password for this server. This server will continue to deny certificate delivery attempts by that server until a valid password is specified. SystemAction Server operation continues. UserResponse On the partner server, ensure that the correct password is set for this server. If the password on this server was changed, reset this server's password on the partner server by using the UPDATE SERVER command with the SERVERPASSWORD parameter. Message Update The following sentence was added to the user response for message ANR1708E, failure during CROSSDEFINE: Use the SET SERVER servername SERVERPASSWORD parameter to reset the password in the server definition on both servers.
