APAR status

Error description

  • During data ingest to container storage, IBM Spectrum Protect
    Server will check the amount of mounted existing containers
    before attempting to  allocation new container from the file
    system free space. This can possible cause data ingest to
    container to fail with premature "ANR0522W - no space" condition
     when the container file system has sufficient free space.

    Note:
    The APAR applies if the error condition happens when there are
    huge amount of FsFreeSpace:

    IBM spectrum Protect Server v7.1/V8.1 using directory  container
    storage.
    

Local fix

  • execute below command:
    SETOPT SDMAXSESSIONCONTAINERS 2048
    Note :
    This option controls the maximum number of existing containers
    that will be mounted before the application will open a brand
    new container.  The default is 50, setting it to 2K disable the
    option.
