APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During replication, an allocation request will be made to the
  target container pool for the entire logical size of an object
  being sent, rather than requesting an allocated size taking into
   consideration the deduplicated or compression rate. This can
  cause an over allocation of space needed in the target storage
  pool and use up more space at the operating system level, rather
   than use space within existing containers.
  
  One consequence of this would be to see the following reported
  on the source :
  
  ANR0206E REPLICATE NODE process 833 failed due to insufficient
  space in destination storage pool.
  
  The target server will report the following if there is a lack
  of space at the operating system level :
  
  ANR0522W Transaction failed for session 123456 for node MyNode
  (Windows) - no space available in storage pool MYDIRPOOL and all
  successor pools.
  
  This APAR will add an option so a reduction rate can be applied
  which affects the pre-allocation size sent to the target and so
  will not require as much space to be reserved at the OS level
  and use existing container space more efficiently.

  IBM Spectrum Protect  7.1.3 and later, and 8.1.0 and later on
  all supported platforms
