IT23393: ANR2017I LOGGED TWICE IN ACTIVITY LOG WHEN COMMAND IS RUN FROM A SERVER SCRIPT

Error description

  • Commands that are run from a server script may log two ANR2017I
    messages in the server activity log.
    
    For example, the ANR2017I message will be logged twice in the
    server activity log when an UPDATE STGPOOL or MIGRATE STGPOOL
    command is run from a server script. The activity log shows :
    
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     RUN MAINTENANCE_RECLAMATION  (SESSION: 123)
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     UPDATE STGPOOL TAPEPOOL reclaimpr=10  (SESSION: 123)
    ...
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     UPDATE STGPOOL TAPEPOOL reclaimpr=10  (SESSION: 123)
    ...
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     RECLAIM STGPOOL TAPEPOOL threshold=60 duration=240 wait=yes
     (SESSION: 123)
    ...
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     RECLAIM STGPOOL TAPEPOOL threshold=60 duration=240 wait=yes
     (SESSION: 123)
    
    It is important to note that the command is not actually ran
    twice. It is the ANR2017I message that is logged twice.
    If the messages are logged consecutively,  the ANR2017I message
    will be logged once followed by the ANR1626I message.
    For example :
    
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     RUN MIGR  (SESSION: 123)
    ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command:
     MIGRATE STGPOOL DISKPOOL  (SESSION: 123)
    ANR1626I The previous message (message number 2017) was repeated
     1 times.
    
    Versions Affected:
    IBM Spectrum Protect server V7.1 and V8.1 on all platforms
    

Local fix

  • The extra ANR2017I message can be ignored.
