IT23339: IBM SPECTRUM PROTECT FRONT-END LICENSING TOOLS FOR VMWARE MAY RETURN INCORRECT VALUES

Error description

• Both the Front-End licensing scripts and the in code
  implementation that reports via Operations Center may return
  incorrect values for Front-End licensing reports when counting
  the capacity of VMware virtual machines.
  The problem is caused by the following main reason: the
  Front-End licensing tools count the value returned from the
  VMware option "UsedSpaceGB".
  This value includes the size of the so called independent
  persistent disks, the snapshots size and the swap space size
  causing the Front-End licensing tools to return incorrect (too
  high) values.

Problem conclusion

• The used capacity will be calculated correctly. Exceptions from
  the correct calulation (special disk types) are documented
