Error description

  • Brocade switch probes fail with HWN021899E Switch has not
    associated fabric.

    The error is caused by entries in the database associating a
    particular switch with multiple fabrics due to principal switch
    changes in the fabric that were not processed correctly. The
    switch doesn't actually belong to both fabrics at the same time
    and the incorrect association causes the probe to fail.
    Principal switch changes can occur with fabrics and should be
    handled such that Spectrum Control has the correct switch and
    fabric relationships to continue probing.

    fabric probe log
    2017-09-28 08:24:09.934 BTAFM0614I The probe task is to probe
    topology and zone. The probe algorithm is CIM association.
    2017-09-28 08:24:10.012 BTAFM5003E Requests to an SMI agent did
    not correctly collect a set of switches for fabric <fabric_WWN>.
    2017-09-28 08:24:10.012 BTAFM5002E The SMI agents <agent_IP>
    returned an error or can no longer contact the switches.
    2017-09-28 08:24:12.949 BTADS0102E The data can't be collected
    by the probe because the data collector or the storage resource
    that is being probed isn't available. The run ID for the probe
    is 34035, the job ID is 104066, the status of the process is 4,
    and the return code is 1 .

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:                                         *
    * Sometimes, when the connection from Spectrum Control Server *
    * to BNA CIMOM fails and there are multiple CIMOMs used, the *
    * database data might become inconsistent, regarding Fabric to *
    * Switch relations.                                            *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    * Apply fix maintenance when available *
    ****************************************************************
    This fix adds a cleanup procedure that should resolve the issue.
    This is a 2 step procedure and the cleanup is done when running
    the Fabric probe the first time, and the Fabric probe will fail.
    When the Fabric probe is ran the second time it should finish
    successfully.
