Error description

  • Error Description: It is possible for the installation of the
    Virtual Environments package to fail when the Windows account
    being used contains a space. A pop up with the following text is
     displayed when this occurs.
    
    Error: Unable to access jarfile C:\Users\<account name before
    the space>
    
    So if the account being used is TEST USER, the message will be
    displayed as follows:
    
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 7.1.x and 8.1.x on
    Windows
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics: Review of the TDPVMwareInstallation.log
    file shows that the SUPPORTDIR contains a path with spaces in
    it.
    
    Property(C): SUPPORTDIR = C:\Users\<account name with
    spaces>\AppData\Local\Temp\4\{FD194425-98A7-4958-8198-B657820E8C
    69}
    
    Further review of the log shows that when
    
    1: vCenter_Validate: running

Local fix

  • Use an account without spaces to perform the installation.
