Error description

• The tsmdlst was fully changed in 8.1.1 release.
  The new (8.1.1 or later) tsmdlst does not take any options
  during running time.
  The new tsmdlst was changed to get device information directly
  from HBA API, while the old (8.1.0 or earlier) tsmdlst gets
  device and device driver from Windows operating system.  As
  result, the output of the new tsmdlst is fully different from
  the old one.
  
  However, the manual page of tsmdlst has not reflected these
  changes yet.
  The following sections of the manual page have to be changed.

  In IBM Spectrum Protect V8.1.1, the operation of the "tsmdlst"
  device information utility was changed. From release V8.1.1,
  this utility, which is relevant for the Windows platform, gets
  device information from the Host Bus Adaptor (HBA) API. The
  utility no longer gets device information from the device and
  device driver on the Windows operating system and, as a result,
  the output from running the "tsmdlst" utility is different.
  
  In IBM Knowledge Center, the "Device utilities" section was not
  updated to reflect these changes. The documentation also did not
  include details about the"dsmsanlist" device information utility
  for the AIX and Linux platforms.
  

Problem conclusion

• In IBM Knowledge Center, in the "Device utilities" section, the
  following topics will be updated:
  
  - "(AIX and Linux) dsmsanlist (Display information about
  devices)"
  - "(Windows) tsmdlst (Display information about devices)"
  
  In these topics, the device information utilities for the
  respective platforms will be described and example output will
  be provided for each.
  
  Affected platforms for reported release:  AIX, Linux, and
  Windows.
