APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DELETE VOLUME command will issue warning ANR1423W, that
    states the volume is empty, but will not be deleted because the
    access mode is "offsite". The server then reports message
    ANR2032E that indicates the operation failed due to an "internal
    server error". Under this circumstance the attempt to delete a
    volume where the access mode is "offsite", does not qualify as a
    "internal server error".

    The following example shows the messages reported in the
    activity log when issuing the DELETE VOLUME command:
      ANR2017I Administrator ADMIN issued command: DELETE VOLUME XXX
               discard=yes
      ANR1423W Scratch volume XXX is empty but will not be
               deleted - volume access mode is "offsite".
      ANR2032E DELETE VOLUME: Command failed - internal server
                error detected.

Local fix

  • Update the volume to onsite and run the delete volume command
    again to delete the volume.
