Error description

  • During the upgrade of a Tivoli Storage Manager Server, V6.X, to
    IBM Spectrum Protect Server, V8.X, the following error message
    might be seen:
    
    ANRI1017W WARNING: The upgrade command for database TSMDB1
    failed. To complete the upgrade of this instance, correct the
    error and reissue the following command as user tsminst1:
    db2 upgrade database TSMDB1.
    
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
    All V6.X versions of Tivoli Storage Manager Server being
    upgraded to IBM Spectrum Protect V8.X on all operating systems.
    
    V7.X servers being upgraded to V8.X are not affected.
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics (If Applicable)
    
    If the ANRI1017W message is issued while upgrading your server
    from V6.X to V8.X, issue the db2 upgrade database command as
    documented in the ANRI1017W message.
    
    If, when running the db2 upgrade database command, the following
    message is issued:
    SQL1762N Unable to connect to database because there is not
    enough space to allocate active log files. SQLSTATE=08004
    check the filesystem that contains the server active log
    directory. If sufficient free space is available, you are
    probably affected by DB2 APAR IT19687. This IBM Spectrum Protect
    Server APAR ships a new fixing level of DB2 which contains the
    fix for DB2 APAR IT19687.

  • Upgrade your V6.X server to version 7.1.3 or a later 7.1.X
    version, then upgrade your server to V8. If you already
    attempted to upgrade your V6.X server and see the issue,
