Error description

  • When damaged fragments exist in a copy stgpool BACKUP STGPOOL
can fail during a copy attempt. If the fragment in the
primary stgpool has been deduplicated the problem will not
    occur.

IBM Spectrum Protect server levels 7.1.0 and higher
    .
    Additional Keywords:
    Fragment damage tape file

Local fix

  • Confirm the copy pool objects are indeed damaged using audit
volume fix=no. If they are damaged, move the good data to
another volume and delete the damaged data using delete volume
discarddata=yes. During the next backup stgpool the object
will be rewritten to the copy pool.
