APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A system was undergoing a hardware redundancy test where one of
the G8052 Merion switches is powered off to simulate a switch
failure. After powering the switch back on, some of the compute
nodes had undergone a state change to "unlicensed" state.

    The event generated is:
'CWZIP1890I The state field of the SN#XXXXXX compute node was
changed successfully from available to unlicensed.'

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Code has been added to detect when the service location
protocol (SLP) has returned data that probably indicates
an SLP failure due to hardware failure or outage.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System and
    BlueMix Local System version 2.2.3.0.

Temporary fix
