Error description
There is a documented issue with VMware ESX 6.0: SCSI operations fail with out of memory messages (2146529) https://kb.vmware.com/kb/2146529 We need to update to a version that contains the fix. This issue is resolved in ESXi 6.0 Patch ESXi-6.0.0-20161104001.
Local fix
The customer can restart the compute node that is nearing heap exhaustion by executing the following steps: 1. Quiesce the compute node 2. Maintain the compute node 3. Check that all VMs have been moved off of the compute node before proceeding. If they have not, you can power off and store remaining workloads. If this is not an option, support can investigate why the VMs could not be migrated and can assess whether any workaround is available 4. Power off the node 5. Power on the node 6. Start the node
Problem summary
We have upgraded to VMware ESXi 6.0 patch 4 build 4600944.
Problem conclusion
A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System and BlueMix Local System version 2.2.3.0.
