APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer is applying maintenance to a virtual system in
PureApplicaiton Service.  The maintenance operations fails with
the following error showing in the History:

CWZKS0465E: The snapshot operation for
<deploymentID> could not be completed on
<VM name> for the following reason:

CWZKS2002E: POST request for
https://127.0.0.1:5011/resources/instances/<nnn>/snapshots
failed with response status code
org.apache.wink.client.ClientRuntimeException:
java.lang.RuntimeException:
java.net.SocketTimeoutException:
Socket operation timed out before it could be completed.

Local fix

  • If appropriate, the taking of the snapshot during application
of the maintenance may be disabled to avoid the timeout.

Problem summary

  • The snapshot operation timeout value has been increased
to prevent this issue from occurring.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System and
BlueMix Local System version 2.2.3.0.
