Error description
PCOMM V12 on Windows7 The customer log-on from a Windows7 PC to another Windows7 PC which PCOMM V12 installed using remote desktop service. On the Windows7 PC which has PCOMM V12, if the customer try to convert from a PDF file to a PDT file in the Printer Session of PCOMM V12.0 via remote desktop, the Printer Session goes to hang. This issue does not happen if the customer convert from PDF to PDT in the Printer Session on the local Windows7 ( Not log-on via remote desktop service ). I can recreate this issue on my Windows7 PC which log-on using remote desktop service with the following steps: 1) Log-on from Windows7 to another Windows7 which has PCOMM V12 using remote desktop service. 2) Start the Printer Session. 3) Select 'File' --> 'Printer Setup...' on the Menu-Bar of PRT Seesion. 4) Check 'Use PDT' 5) Push 'Select PDT...' button. 6) Push 'Convert PDF...' button. After the step 6, the PRT session goes to hang.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * Users of Personal Communications on RDP with Windows 7 or * * later operating systems * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * PCOMM would hang when accessed through RDP on Windows 7 or * * later operating systems. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The hang occurred when the user opened the Convert PDF to PDT dialog. This happened due to COM libraries not being compatible with common dialogs (Convert PDF to PDT) since COM threads interfered with the Convert PDF to PDT dialog.
Problem conclusion
Hang is resolved by making changes to PCSW32X.DLL module which ensure that we unload the COM libraries when this module unloads from the operating system. Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.19 Refresh Pack Fix scheduled for PCOM 12.0.3 Refresh Pack
