APAR status

Error description

  • PureApplication System.

Passwords that end with an underscore that are entered in the
Pattern Builder cause the deployment of that pattern to fail.
The analysis of the failure on the virtual machine found
that the trailing underscore is being deleted from the password
when it is decoded.

Local fix

  • Do not use passwords that end with the underscore character "_".

Problem summary

  • The password encoding method treated the underscore
character correctly, but the decoding method was
removing it.

Problem conclusion

  • A code fix is being provided in PureApplication System and
BlueMix Local System version 2.2.3.0.
