IT17598: THE SRA ON THE IBM SPECTRUM CONTROL IS NOT UPGRADED IF THE HOSTNAME HAS DIFFERENT CASE THAN THE HOSTS FILE.

APAR status

Error description

  • In the Storage Resource Agent is installed on
    /opt/IBM/TPC/agent/config/Agent.config the servername is:
    Servername=MYTPCSERVER.ibm.com
    
    In the /etc/hosts
    xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx    mytpcserver   mytpcserver.ibm.com
    
    The hostname was changed in the /etc/hosts from uppercase to
    lowercase after the Storage Resource Agent installation on the
    IBM Spectrum Control server.
    The installer doesn't find the hostname in uppercase on the
    server then it doesn't upgrade the SRA.
    
    The code will be enhanced to have case-insensitive comparison
    for the hostname.
    

Local fix

  • Edit the /opt/IBM/TPC/agent/config/Agent.config file and replace
    the Servername by the hostname read in the /etc/hosts.
